Daylong Meditation Events
"Meditation is the art of allowing everything to simply be in the deepest possible way. The silence and stillness of meditation fosters an inward stability, objectivity, non-attachment, and depth of understanding unknown to the conceptual mind." ~ Adyashanti Next Daylong meditation event in 2018 - is TBA email Amanda Stiler: [email protected] to be sure you get the latest info - when it becomes available. or join our official mailing list here. We are a small meditation group in Soquel that enjoy getting together weekly to meditate. We have been looking forward to another daylong gathering, to have a more relaxed stretch of time together in silence. This day is an invitation to take time out from your busy schedule, perhaps simply reconnect to your relaxed and grounded self, or dive deeper into discovering yourself through direct insight.... This is for meditators that have had some experience, whom are open-minded and willing to look freshly, with curiosity and patience into the nature of their experience. It's lightly structured, and our approach is that everything is optional.(If you aren't accustomed to sitting a lot - you are welcome to walk the paths or rest outside in the wild garden of a friend's Santa Cruz Mountain property.) Typically everyone participates in most things. During meditation some of us sit in chairs, while others sit or lie on the floor. A talk will be offered by an experienced member and some optional Qigong/movement meditation with Amanda. Somatic Educator, Kelli Peacock will also be joining us, to explore subtle, gentle body-mind movements, to relieve tension while sitting and laying down. We will complete quietly with a closing circle. No speaking necessary. Bring; something healthy to share for lunch AND whatever you want to meditate on - cushion, mat, blanket etc We will be observing silence in general (with exceptions): - The day includes 25 to 30 minute silent meditation rounds with 5 minutes breaks in-between - A 40 minute Somatic session led by Kelli Peacock - A 30 minute talk given by a member of the group - A 40 minute Qi-Gong session by led by Amanda Stiler - A short closing circle.
